Dan Shugar, aka Shug, is a six-string sorcerer, conjuring sonic spells that ignite the soul and move the body. Shug says “I just follow Veda and it all works out” and that “making music with Sweet Voodoo is my favorite elixir and endorphin generator; we give folks a delicious groove fever for which there is no known antidote”.

Rich is a seasoned bassist with many decades of experience, covering a wide variety of musical genres and sonic flavors. From the 80's hair metal band days to today's expressive and varied musical landscape, Rich holds it down like no other. He is the solid anchor and driving melodic rhythm keeper of the band, creating a foundation from which the rest of us can launch into the stratosphere.

From Los Altos Hills, CA. Dropped on the kitchen floor in 1964. Found a 2 quart saucepan and wooden spoon appealing and it cost my parents nothing - until later. After beating my piano to death with real drumsticks at the age of 11, the choice was made. There was no going back. Yes, Genesis, Rush, Marching Band, Zep, Van Halen all had a huge influence on me and dashed any hopes of a normal life with babies, computers or adult responsibilities of any kind, except learning the next riff or tunes for rehearsal. Wunderkind Marco Palermo is the original drummer of Sweet Voodoo, and although he is currently engaged in other life pursuits, he still sits in occasionally on skins for us! A Santa Cruz local boy and funky-rock aficionado, Marco began beating on drums as a youngin', trying his hand at Taiko, and various other percussive art forms. Rock on and dig that beat, Sparky!
